Are you on TikTok?
Haha ya, I got one this season. My siblings were telling me I had to get on it, so here I am. @thealexisroland
What´s your favorite trick right now?
Favorite trick right now is definitely a front blunt same way 270 or 450. It just comes around so nicely and it feels so good doing it.
What is your dream trick to learn?
I have several that I want to get, but I really wanna get front board pretzel 270 on lock. It’s such a hard trick and I can’t quite get the hang of it. And of course once I get it I have to also get it switch.
One I really enjoyed reading this last year is “Better than perfect- A guide to silencing your inner critic and creating a life you love.” I’ve been calling myself a recovering perfectionist. Perfectionism can be useful, but only to an extent. The book has helped teach me to be kinder to myself when I mess up. I can try to chase perfection, but knowing that I’ll never reach it and that’s OK. I can love myself regardless.
Do you have any special tricks or advice for setting up your board?
Ooof I’m still tinkering with my own board set up. Just don’t put your bindings on backwards, I’ve done that! Feels kinda funky :P Honestly just play around with it. Probably a little wider than hips width apart and 9-12 degrees is a pretty solid stance to start with.
What is your favorite on-hill snack to bring snowboarding?
How can people get in contact with you?
Instagram definitely works best. I’m pretty slow when it comes to that sorta thing though.
Why should people support Nitro or ride Nitro product?
People should support Nitro because they are a dope brand! Seriously though, they really care about snowboarding, the culture and riders as a whole, it’s not just about profits. They are willing to support me and what I’m trying to do, and they are supporting the growth of women’s snowboarding as a whole. That’s pretty cool.
What trick should everyone learn right now?
Everyone should learn switch tricks. Doesn’t matter what it is, boardslide, 50/50, cab 270, working on the other side of the body is so good for you and your riding as a whole. Growing up when I learned a trick, I also had to learn it switch. I became a lot stronger of a rider because of it.
Any words of advice?
Just get out there and try dude. You might land on your face, fall and fail, but that means you’re trying. If you aren’t falling, you aren’t trying hard enough. The only way you can succeed is through failing. You got this! Every fall is one step closer to a make.
